Eboo Patel, founder of Interfaith Youth Core and a University of Illinois alumnus, recounted arriving on campus in fall 1993, his awakening to racial and ethnic identity, and his father's challenge to address religious conflict, then argued that higher education should build interfaith literacy, relationships, and leadership the way it built multicultural ones.
