Stories of Impact and Success at the U.N

M.J. (Molly Jean) Altman, senior communications officer at the United Nations Foundation and a 2006 University of Illinois graduate, traced her own path from the Daily Illini, Students for Environmental Concerns and founding the Green Observer through MSNBC, Time magazine and the Smithsonian to humanitarian advocacy, then profiled individuals she interviewed in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Tanzania, Syria and Ethiopia. She reviewed the Sustainable Development Goals and their 2030 deadline, noted the new UNA-USA chapter on campus, and closed with a Kofi Annan quotation. A brief Q&A followed.
