University of Illinois graphic design professor Stacey Robinson and Krannert Center artistic director Jason Finkelman, introduced by Sam Smith, discussed their "positive obsessions," improvisation and collaboration as practices, and the Parable Path CU project built around Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower. Robinson walked through a time-lapse of the drawing he made for the project, which hangs in the Y's Clark Lounge, and Finkelman scored it with his ensemble's music. Audience questions turned to art, youth and histories of violence, including Japanese American incarceration. Friday Forum and Conversation Cafe.
