Professional baritone Anthony "Tony" Brown previewed his program "I Go On Singing: Paul Robeson's Life in His Word and Song," accompanied at the piano by Phillip De Luna. Brown sang "Without a Song" and "Ol' Man River" and gave an extended spoken biography of Robeson: his father's escape from slavery, Rutgers and Columbia, the London years and anti-colonial awakening, the revoked passport, McCarthy-era blacklisting, and his decline. He also recounted how playwright Andrew Flack prompted him to build the show. Friday Forum + Conversation Cafe.
