Alumni-chapter representatives of the historically Black fraternities and sororities known as the Divine Nine in Champaign-Urbana (Nathan Stevens, Janelle Hardy, Prince Robertson, Kimberly Alexander Brown and Shandra Somerville), moderated by Kellie Blanden, director of Diversity & Social Justice Education. Panelists introduced their chapters and professions, then described mentoring, scholarship, food-security, maternal and infant health, and voter registration work, and discussed the difficulty of retaining members in a college town. Audience questions drew out the organizations' role in Project 500, immigration-related advocacy and lifelong membership. Friday Forum + Conversation Cafe in Latzer Hall.
