A panel tied to the exhibition BLACK UNCANNY: Tales of the Black + the Weird. Moderator and curator Stacey Robinson opened with a slide lecture tracing how Black bodies have been experimented on, caricatured and politically exploited, then connected that history to Afrofuturism and contemporary Black speculative art. Panelists Patrick Earl Hammie and Elias Yukio Finkelman described their contributions, and John Jennings joined online. Audience Q&A covered gender in Afrofuturism, funding and erasure, and cross-community solidarity.
