Friday Forum

Since Feb. 11, 1927, the University YMCA has gathered people at noon on Fridays to hear a speaker and talk together about the questions of the day. It began as the Faculty Forum, a luncheon talk for University of Illinois faculty, and became the Friday Forum in 1971. Since 2017 it has met with Diversity & Social Justice Education's Conversation Café as the Friday Forum + Conversation Café. In 2027 the forum marks its 100th year.

This catalogue lists every forum we know of, with recordings where they exist, from the Y, Urbana Public Television and the University's Center for Civic Education and Justice. We are still filling in earlier years from programs, newspapers, annual reports and meeting minutes.
